A Team Outing for FOMAX Employees

A break from work is important for all, whether it is an employee or a homemaker. It rejuvenates, relaxes and motivates you to perform better at workplace. We at FOMAX also got a day’s break from work when we were taken out for a team outing to Guhantara – India’s first cave resort.

The morning of August 27, 2013 was special for all the employees of FOMAX as we all reached office by about 7 o’clock. Unlike other days, all of us came in bright casual outfits to reflect our adventurous mood. There were smiling faces all around that filled the entire office with positive energy. We boarded on a bus to reach Guhantara, located on the outskirts of Bangalore. In an hour we were at the resort with our awe-stricken eyes to see the unique cave dwelling concept.

The day kick-started with welcome drink and a heavy breakfast after which we were divided into groups to take up different outdoor activities. Some of us enjoyed badminton on the fields while few of us preferred testing our hands on carrom board after a long time. A cricket match was also organized between the FOMAX and GROWFAST team in which FOMAX had an upper hand. After rigorous physical activity there were some indoor team building activities. This gave us an opportunity to interact with each other and was a good platform to showcase our team building skills. Now it was time to grab the delicious lunch served by the Guhantara team. The food was good followed by the lip-smacking desserts. After lunch we all roamed around the resort to catch the glimpse of the exclusive architecture and concept. The rain dance after lunch was like icing on a cake. We all enjoyed dancing on DJ numbers in the rain.

Last but not the least, awards were given to the star performers for their hard work and contribution to the growth of the company. The day ended with a motivational speech by the founder of the company – Mr. Rajesh Kumar. Finally, it was time to bid adieu and treasure the unforgettable memories of the trip forever.

Digital marketing has paved its way in almost every sector whether it is retail, banking, education, tourism, healthcare or any other industry you name. However, healthcare sector has been slow in adopting digital marketing trends and practices. A research shows that the healthcare marketing lags behind by two years when compared to other sectors.

There is a huge gap between the usage of print media and social media in healthcare sector. For example, 35% of healthcare marketers use print magazines, 43% of them use print newsletters and 36% use print media for annual reporting. While the figures for the healthcare marketers using social networks and blogs is relatively far less when compared to other marketers. Only 58% of healthcare marketers compared to 74% of all marketers use blogs for marketing purposes. Story remains same for the social media marketing however the sector ranks exceptionally high for using YouTube – 71% which is higher than the overall average of 63%. The reason could be that medical professionals extensively use YouTube for showing procedures and interviewing doctors.

Despite of the barriers to entry for internet marketing in healthcare industry, digital marketing tools provides the most effective ways for modernization. The healthcare professionals need to follow a proper online marketing strategy in order to be a successful marketer in digital world.
